The Light Collector R&D

For the last few years writer and actor Amy Harris and I have been developing her play The Light Collector through a series of R&D workshops, drafts, chats and explorations.

Earlier in the summer we had a brilliant day of R&D with a particular focus on the story structure, the form, and playing with a key set element prototype made for us by Emma Lashwood. We were joined by performers Marco Mazza and CJ Turner-McMullan who brought their brilliant brains and playfulness to our explorations.

The Light Collector is a story about familiarity, fear, loneliness, but ultimately about the power of community & coming together to share & spread light & joy. It is for now. It is for those who’ve felt a loss of connection & need restoring.

At the moment we know that it will involve puppetry, music & movement, but there’s a lot still to be discovered and we’re excited to continue its development soon. Our next stages are to apply for funding to enable this and find some partners (if you can help with either of these things and are interested in chatting more please do get in touch!).
