Youth Director - G64 Theatre For Young People, full time 2015 - 2018
In this role I managed the running and delivery of one of London’s largest, inclusive, young people’s theatre companies, based at Putney Arts Theatre.
Produced and directed over 5 shows per year.
Programmed and coordinated the company’s creative content, delivered daily workshops on site and in schools.
Managed budgets, a team of freelancers and professional development opportunities.
Notable projects:
Truth or Dare Festival - I initiated and curated a week long festival for young people involving over 100 8-19yr olds (performing, writing & directing the shows), a playwriting competition with professional mentors, and masterclasses.
Edinburgh Fringe Festival Project - Facilitated a group of 15 young theatre makers to devise their own show over the course of 6 months to take to the Fringe. I took three productions between 2014-2018, with our most recent show ‘Happimess’ exploring what being happy means to young people today, which gained 4* reviews and overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Young Directors Programme- Supported teenagers through the process of directing their own show, and helped them develop as independent theatre makers.
